The rules for using File Maktab's file tools, written to match how the service actually works.
File Maktab provides browser-based file tools for PDF, image, Word, Excel, CSV, and JSON files, plus optional AI document features. Most tools process files locally in your browser; the AI features (summaries, document chat, translation, key-information extraction, analysis, and image OCR) run on File Maktab's servers and require a free sign-in.
Use the tools only for files you own or are authorized to process, and only for lawful purposes. The acceptable use policy lists the specific restrictions.
You keep all rights to your files. Local tools process the selected file in your browser and create the result there. For server-assisted AI features, the text or image you submit is sent through File Maktab’s server to a configured processing endpoint. The reviewed source does not establish production or provider retention and deletion practices for submitted content; do not submit sensitive material unless you have confirmed the protections you need. File Maktab does not use submitted document content to personalize advertising.
Accounts are optional and free. Signing in (through the configured identity provider, using Google or email verification) enables the AI features and a small activity history. You can clear your activity or delete your File Maktab account at any time from the account settings.
Published file-size and input limits apply, and AI features are rate-limited so the service stays available for everyone. Attempting to bypass limits, scrape the service, or disrupt it may lead to restricted access.
The free plan is available without payment. Paid plans (Plus, Premium) are available; prices and included features are shown clearly on the pricing page before any charge is made.
The tools are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. File conversion and compression involve tradeoffs, and AI-generated answers can be wrong: always review important results before relying on them, and keep a copy of your original files.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, File Maktab is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost data, or lost profits arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
The service and these terms may change as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
