Make images smaller without wrecking them
Large images slow down websites, blow past upload limits, and fill inboxes. Compression reduces file size by re-encoding the image more efficiently — mostly by lowering the quality setting just enough that the savings are large but the visual difference is hard to notice at normal viewing size.
This tool compresses JPG, PNG, and WebP images in your browser, one file or a batch, with a quality setting you choose. It reports the measured size change for each image so you can judge the tradeoff yourself. One honest caveat: already-optimized images (for example, exports from another compressor) may barely shrink, and some may not shrink at all.

PRACTICAL TIPS
Before you start
- Start with a moderate quality setting and check the result at 100% zoom; only go lower if artifacts are acceptable for the use case.
- If dimensions are the real problem (a 6000px photo for a 600px slot), resize first with Resize Image, then compress — the savings multiply.
- Keep originals. Compression is lossy; you cannot recover detail from the smaller file later.
