About Word document size reduction
Large DOCX files are usually heavy because of embedded media: full-resolution photos, videos, or embedded objects. Shrinking them properly means re-encoding that media inside the document package — a deeper operation than text conversion.
A dedicated Word-compression engine is planned as a Plus feature. In the meantime, the practical path is to resize or compress the images before inserting them into the document (Resize Image and Image Compressor both work locally), which prevents the bloat at the source.
